Dirty Little Secrets
Two handcrafted polymer clay dolls, approximately 30cm each, March 2019.
I made these dolls as a commentary on the societal cognitive dissonance that is the simultaneous fetishization and marginalization of trans bodies. I wanted to highlight the link I see between supernatural beings and the erasure of trans lives.
"According to you, I am not a real man. But you also say I can never be a real woman. What can I do to be real then? Am I destined to be a mythological creature for life?"
"Hey boy, the reason you are so fascinated with my balls is that you don't have any yourself."
"Hey girl, do you remember your ex-boyfriend? He sucked my dick last night. Guess none of us can trust these str8 boiz after all..."
"Why did you create a false expectation in an already fragile mind? When you knew it would be impossible? When you were so scared of the consequences? So you could keep your dirty little secret?"
